Sarah:
[0:20] Hey friends welcome back to the show Will how's it going.

Will:
[0:25] Hello it is well tranquilo as they say.

Sarah:
[0:29] We are currently on our vacation at the islands of Loreto in Mexico right brand-new brand-new vacation spot for us what have you thought of our time so far.

Will:
[0:40] Wonderful just the right mix of nature and tranquillo which is you know Spanish for like relaxing and chilling there's enough to do but not pressured to do all the stuff and it's not very touristy which I appreciate very.

Sarah:
[0:52] We love it we're going to tell you a little more about our vacation here in just a minute just some life lessons we've learned in our time here but this is something we started this whole episode we're coming to you both of us together because we want to
talk about just kind of our process will and I individually will and I as a couple our family of what we do as we kind of
end one year and start a new year and so we just want to kind of share with you more about that why we do that what that looks like for us and hopes that maybe it would bring you guys some encouragement to see just how
other real life people make some plans and intentions and help you maybe do the same encourage you to hopefully do that maybe it's something you've been doing we would love to hear from you if you do that or maybe it's something new you're going to put in
after so will something we started several years ago was trying very hard our very best to get away the beginning of January just the two of us,
what about that.

Will:
[1:46] Yeah that's right and disclaimer is that a season does not necessarily mean the 31st of December into the first of January means,
new season a season can be any time it can be longer or shorter or whatever but we decided just because it's the natural rhythm of her life kids on school vacation and easier for us to reset every year super.

Sarah:
[2:07] To get child care for our kids so we.

Will:
[2:09] That too if they're not in school you have been childcare things like that so it kind of fit into the rhythm of our family life,
it's okay if I talk about my traditional or get that kind of time of year came for me.

Sarah:
[2:19] Ahead you're jumping that's fine go ahead.

Will:
[2:21] I'm jumping okay well I'm jumping because I don't know I can't read your mind still 17 years of marriage can't read her mind.

Sarah:
[2:26] Okay go ahead talk about you this is something a process you've done for a while.

Will:
[2:29] Yeah it started probably late high school early college just the tradition of my family going to Florida and I just I guess,
As I Grew in my relationship with God I found,
tremendous value in spending time in the changing of seasons and particularly sunrise at the beach for some reason just kind of spoke to me an opportunity to journal and to think about the year past and what's ahead forward in that early time of the year and so I think it kind of grew on me and something I've
continue to I'm glad that we could do that is family.

Sarah:
[3:01] Your big journal or and all those things and kind of have done that every year you told me you actually showed me you had this coffee place you told me about in Florida ago but was a Barneys.

Will:
[3:09] It was Barney's yeah in fact that's my favorite coffee cup I still have yes.

Sarah:
[3:12] We still have it and you would tell me that's how he won me over folks he told me about how he plans and journals and all that stuff actually that's not true but that was a part of.

Will:
[3:21] Who knows how I won you over mystery.

Sarah:
[3:23] I have no idea at the mystery know lots of ways anyway so something that will is done for a long time something I've done off and on for years but we together have decided as will said just in January to be able to take some time this is probably it's our 4th or 5th January
to be able to do this it's been it's at least four it could be five just being extra extra intentional about getting
anyway for lots of reasons earlier on if your parents listening or if you're in school as will said man find a time that works for you like for us it just works that the calendar changes over it's a really natural time for our,
used to be able to do this and kind of just reassess but as will said Seasons look different for everybody and so even right now
probably when you're hearing this today is actually January 6th and recording when you're hearing this is probably what January 13th so,
even if you're this Farm we're going to talk about a lot of different stuff kind of our process but it is not too late I don't want you to listen this then going like well I already past January,
first I can't do this there is no right or wrong time to just take some time to pause reflect kind of look back look forward look ahead and so that's what we're going to kind of walk you through what we do and,
what it looks like for us both together individually and then as a family so,
partly will what we do is we start you guys kind of got look back before you can look forward I think there's just something real good about hey kind of taken some moments to pause what happened this last year was it look like do you want to kind of tell the things you look for and we can see how ours.

Will:
[4:48] Yeah certainly I tend to look back at were there any specific things,
last year you know the same time last year that I felt like was a call in my life for a goal or something I was trying to achieve or something God was moving me in a direction and looking back and seeing how did that do so I put that in the category of reflect,
it's reflecting on the past year and great great two categories is from reflecting is what are some things to really celebrate the good things from last year and then what are some things to kind of
been a wish or wish I would have done that I didn't do either regrets or even things you grief that you missed out on.

Sarah:
[5:24] So I kind of break it into four big categories we can talk about favorite moments what we're just some highlights that stood out good bad anything favorite moments then we use the term a lot like what winds can we celebrate
just what are things to celebrate what are things to do so the word celebration is a word that we've tried to adopt more in our family more in our life more in our leadership areas just these I think oftentimes like we just don't celebrate enough we did,
start of something that who doesn't need more parties in their life,
and sometimes we don't realize like you don't have this huge thing happen to celebrate like sometimes just whatever it is I drink more water today and that was a goal celebrate first of a party be happy.

Will:
[6:01] Pro tip I'm going to you this is not in the script we don't have a script Pro tip is have some
sparkling juice or champagne or whatever something in your fridge or in your house so that when a good moment happens your already prepared to celebrate when something good happens it really will help.

Sarah:
[6:17] And here's another
is not pro tip that's just a side when you do this seriously I think it will change your life it is something that actually is Will and I are talking about right now we need to do better in 2021 life goal for 2021 find more ways,
to celebrate little things big things all the stuff and if you are by yourself maybe your life placement maybe you're living on your own that's awesome find some friends that can celebrate with you maybe if you just
couple how to do that and then for those of you that are parents made involve your kids in that like teaching our kids to to celebrate things and just make Milestones because so often we can get so busy that we,
spy all the supplements like hey there are really cool things happening so much so that that's the whole reason right we started a podcast
everyday things extraordinary things happen in everyday ordinary and we should celebrate those so back to looking back at 20:20 time to reflect we look at favorite moments
what things can we celebrate what wins this year we kind of changed our word because hello 2020
y'all know we've talked about this a lot 2020 took a crazy turn for all of us for our whole world and so just a word there is an article right will that you read earlier in the year that talked about just needing to use the word grief
like there was just a grieving process for all of us of as our life dramatically changed in 2020 and so this year we kind of just use the word of like hey what are some things from 2020 that maybe we would just put paper we need to grieve.

[7:39] A bit and it doesn't mean like they're these huge sad things and there were some really hard things and maybe you all have had some really hard things and I think there's still that just practice of giving space to whatever those moments were,
acknowledging them just like we want to acknowledge the celebration that we also can acknowledge a hard thing so taking time to do that so what do we say favorite moments,
things to celebrate things to grieve and then we just kind of look to it like this category of improve might like what happened last year where you know what if we could just be real honest
maybe we could have done better and we kind of break that down into physically emotionally mentally kind of one category.

Will:
[8:18] Relationally right.

Sarah:
[8:18] And then relationally and in spiritually so just kind of over those categories of like looking back if I'm being real honest with myself if
enroll honest our marriage if we're being real honest as parents where could we maybe have made some changes are done some stuff so that's what we do so for example because we're big on examples will
we're going to ask each other a couple things let's just share what was your favorite moment from 2020.

Will:
[8:39] Favorite moment from 2020 we got to spend some extraordinary time in extraordinary circumstances with some great friends with families and individuals that I thought was a highlight despite the disruption of 20.

Sarah:
[8:52] Several moments because that wasn't.

Will:
[8:53] That happened number of times yeah.

Sarah:
[8:55] Got to spend some extra time in random ways okay that's good a favorite moment for me look we talked about this the other day we actually got to stay on top of a mountain and we talked about a lot of that that's a highlight for 2021,
we're trying to enjoy my favorite moment there were a lot of good moments actually all things considered you know what favorite moment was starting a podcast that was something we'll talk about that more in a little bit but something very unforeseen didn't think we're going to do and that's been a lot of fun,
okay so when to celebrate what would be a win that you are celebrating from 20/20.

Will:
[9:25] A win to celebrate,
that's a tough one what is a win to celebrate I mean I would say I think I even wrote this down in reflection is the podcast that is a win to celebrate less about the podcast and more about you and I doing something together with intention.

Sarah:
[9:40] Yes absolutely that's great okay what was something on your something to grieve or just something in the hard corner.

Will:
[9:47] Yes something to grief particular I think for me it's the lack of routine or some of them missing out and,
I'm My Own Worst so let's go back to work for a second I work,
secular company and I am my own worst critic on how well or how not will I do and this
year because of the the change in the the disruptions because it covid I felt like I did not bring my best self,
and I didn't do enough this year and so I'm kind of grieving I attribute a lot of that to routine and some circumstances obviously outside of my control but that's one thing I'm grieving this year as not feeling like I was the best version of myself,
in 2020.

Sarah:
[10:22] That's valid I got something to say about that but that's good for me something to grieve I think what did I tell you earlier like part of it,
the good thing I think we said is that when we could get to the end of 2020 we were actually shocked that there were way more things to celebrate
then there were things to grief and yes there were a lot of things to grieve I mean I think I'm a person who feels things really deeply for those around me,
and so even just going through this year and we had multiple people in our family my sister-in-law they lost grandparents
very early on in covid and there was no chance to be there and we have many friends many of you have dealt with elderly parents grandparents whatever their nursing homes and have mailed to visit them people dying and not being able to be there just there's been a lot of hard things and I think that just
having that space to again just grieve that man there was a lot of stuff that was unfair.

Will:
[11:15] Mmmm absolutely.

Sarah:
[11:16] Cool and not great and giving yourself space to do that I mean as you guys know we talked about or if you're brand new to the podcast my own grandparents passed away very unexpectedly,
together it's a long story go back and check out a past episode to hear about that but it was really hard we weren't we actually they passed away and we had covid and so we were unable to attend the funeral there were able to do thankfully like a very small family only
memorial service but we were unable to attend and that was something definitely to be grieved for 2020 so there you go so,
it's part of our process like we said just looking back what are some favorite moments that really stand out to us what are there some things that we can celebrate and then what are some things that we just need to grieve,
and then also the last one was just man where are some things that were for improvement do something that sticks out to you will you kind of talked about your job but that would be under the needs Improvement.

Will:
[12:07] Yeah and when we captured this and I don't want to get ahead of you again but we talked about this as a family and something was very clear to me
relationship-wise is we can improve on one-on-one time with our kids so dating our children being very intentional about that and you and I can we were disrupted in 2020 but you and I can spend more time,
on a regular basis with intent just spending time together.

Sarah:
[12:29] So there's no qualifiers on looking back on a year you got to be honest
and it doesn't matter what happened like what factors their worries like if something derailed us then we did we had been really good in years past about trying to get away once a month and then like once on a Saturday morning
something for a date night for some time alone and then that all cuz kind of went out the window a little bit,
there in 20 the mid-2020s in for sure and then more time.

Will:
[12:54] But what you said those areas right you know and I heard this last year some podcaster book I read is you can't conquer what you don't confront and so if you confront some of the things that you missed out on or that you can improve then that gives you the power to conquer it and to do better.

Sarah:
[13:07] So one of my things I think needs more Improvement and I've been doing better towards the end of 2020 is when covid hit the loss of all routine,
just kind of went out the window for a lot of four in a lot of areas of my life and then for a lot of different reasons part of it was just like oh my gosh like I don't want to do anything I think like most people it was like I just want to sit here and watch Netflix and you know.

Will:
[13:26] We bought an Xbox and I just wanted to play Xbox in the March and May timeframe.

Sarah:
[13:31] Played Xbox not made let's just be clear I think I've played twice and it was just an switch there's something to celebrate in grieve all this.

Will:
[13:38] Truth there will be no video of that.

Sarah:
[13:43] These are dancer there you go we will never release those videos but just the lack of routine kind of struggling with how to find all that how
make it like want to do those things like I think a lot of us just kind of maybe in there lost a little bit of our gumption and just all that and was like I don't do I even why do I want to do these things do I want to do these things and so,
that was something definitely for 2020 that's like okay I gotta I got shape that up a little bit moving forward so okay that's kind of how we look back at 2020 and I do want to say one more thing about the I love the quote what did you just say you can't come from.

Will:
[14:15] You can't conquer what you don't confront yeah.

Sarah:
[14:17] And I want to be real clear we when we talk about stuff like that it is not to beat yourself up,
you got to take the right there is a fine line and we talked about this if you are a person of faith and spirituality there's a difference between condemnation and confrontation and just needing to make a change and so this is not like I need to go beat myself up,
stall Merchants please do not do that this is just a hey where are there some areas that you know what if I'm being honest,
I would love to change I would love to look at and need to make a difference not because I'm a horrible person if I don't not because I'm a loser or not because of any of those things but it's just like hey
I want to do better and I can do better and I can Steward my time or my resources or my mental energy and my emotional health better so I'm going to try to.

Will:
[15:01] Big thing and emotional intelligence self-awareness so if you're looking for what does that mean I don't really know what it means to be more aware of what's happening and what Sarah's talking about I would highly recommend you look up just
Google search self-awareness or look for some emotional intelligence readings really will help to develop that because it is it is a skill that you can learn,
but Sarah's right apps not about condemnation or beating yourself up it's about being intentional with your life and sometimes
often there is room for growth and I am a testament to that.

Sarah:
[15:31] Absolutely and that's something we can talk more about here even just right now,
intentionality is a big word if you listen to our podcast from last week it's actually my sister and a real was on she's a life closed blogger YouTuber all that if you have not listened to episode I'd highly encourage you to go back and listen to it just some,
great practical tips in there of ways to just become more self-aware and just to have intention we also had some good friends of ours on earlier in the season Matt granados was the first one he is the founder of Life pulse Inc,
um we'll talk more about him in a little bit because there's something when we talk about planning that I want to share but they are huge on just intentionality and focus and his wife Maria was on a few episodes later just time of that it's like me and we can let life kind of,
happened to us or we can choose to have intention and we just believe as people of faith that God has put us here on this Earth for a purpose,
ultimately to glorify him but he's given each and every one of us unique gift set in a story and we want to use those things that doesn't mean we can't ever sit back and watch Netflix because we do that a lot at the Good house,
we want to try to live with purpose and use our.

Will:
[16:36] Don't lie Sarah not Netflix Hallmark.

Sarah:
[16:40] Hallmark Christmas movies I might have watched quite a few of those in the November December.

Will:
[16:43] Anyway we digress.

Sarah:
[16:44] That's another that's another thing I am not improving on that that was a win for 2020 Christmas in general,
some happiness for the 2020 season so okay so after we've kind of taken a moment that was a really quick,
overview of just what we do we don't want to bore you guys to death but if you have any extra questions about any of that please feel free to feel free to reach out to us where easy to get a hold of him
I would be happy to tell you more about that and there is tons of podcast YouTube mean there we are not
this is not new to Will and Sarah good there's tons of information like this all over but something we do so we kind of look back and then we're gonna take some time week I'll look forward to
this next gear like as we're looking at 21 or next season wherever you're doing this whenever you're listening to that and just go hey what do we want to see kind of happen in this year what are some intentions and so or some things that we want to do so we kind of look at it first I want to kind of talk
about goal so we kind of flip it and goals as a big thing and some people will say resolutions we actually talked about this with,
Anna on the podcast last week about the difference between just how to have goals and that they should be working for you not against you Matt Maria talked about that is one of the biggest things I think trip so many people have tripped me up in the past is like
I wrote down this goal and I have to do it and then add a end I've already failed and then I give up and I think that's the biggest.

[18:03] Paradigm shift for anybody listening is going hey goals are ever changing their fluid they can move with you they can grow with you we gave an example right will at the beginning of 2020,
we neither one of us wrote down anywhere that we had a goal to start a podcast that was not not even on our like it was a almost a joke but like a comment that we would make whatever like we should start a podcast it was never something to do,
well,
through this year and through what God was doing in different changes we very quickly created a goal and said hey you know what we feel like God's leading this and we did it it was not at the beginning of it was not January first 20/20 it was,
met something I don't know 20 feet 20 20 and made the decision to do it and reach out to that and so that's just kind of a simple example of just hey goals can change throughout the time and you want to check.

Will:
[18:47] And how does that happen and happens by living a life with intentionality and by being reflective and not just once a year but on a regular basis and so putting those things in practice give you kind of the process to be able to evaluate and then to Pivot if you need to Pivot.

Sarah:
[19:02] So just like we look back on a year and kind of have some categories of physically emotionally mentally relationally spiritually we do the same thing as we kind of look forward hey and some of that is based on the when I'm being really honest with myself,
at the season or the year past where there's some things I want to improve on that is kind of a great starting point for setting some new goals
or intentions for the next year and so in again,
just a little plug about goals like we are huge I think it's so great to have them but do not you don't need 50 goals maybe especially if you're brand new this maybe it's just one thing maybe there's
one thing you want to work on and it doesn't need to be don't make it lofty like make it something manageable that you can do also so you can celebrate along the way so,
maybe you put phases to your goal or just whatever I want to be healthier and so maybe for January that means I'm going to drink more water like water is going to help me a lot of ways or
whatever whatever it is will you got anything on goals do you have a goal for make any goals yet for 2021.

Will:
[19:59] I mean the big one is going back and looking at 20:20 looking at I said one of the categories is regrets and one thing I thought I was going to start in 2020 is learning more about flying,
and that's my goal in 2021 is to do some more like edges you know Education and Training because I'd love to be able to take a test and say I'm.

Sarah:
[20:17] Implying you mean like tell people what you like.

Will:
[20:19] My dream and you roll your eyes at me and laugh at me but really is to have a private pilot's license,
it was important to me growing up my grandpa had a license so I got to fly with him I've always loved flying I was you know on a Plane by myself when I was pretty young and I've always had a fascination with Aviation so I
does not done anything with that my entire life and now I feel like at the something just I've continued to feel drawn to that and
coincidentally or not it's related to my word of the year but we're not there yet.

Sarah:
[20:48] We're not there yet don't spoil it.

Will:
[20:49] Dun dun dun.

Sarah:
[20:50] Aviation so we actually for your 40th birthday you were supposed to go at least take like some of those mini lessons and then never never never got to and then you did you said 20 20 I'm going to do this and then,
covid-19.

Will:
[21:01] But how.

Sarah:
[21:02] So we didn't do that so that's a great goal to have I've been,
strut I have got some I need to get we're a little behind and recording and when we're recording this we have not made it through our full whole process like it's kind of taken me a little longer this time just needs some time to relax and refresh before fully getting there,
but I think part of what you said just always as we're parents we have four kids just
to be really intentional about the time that we have with them our oldest daughter is nearing possibly like the end of her time in our house fully like she's going to be going to college in about a year and a half and so just that kind of ticking
clock is like okay I really want to make sure we're spending good moments with our kids and with friends and just all of that I think intention in the cross the borders is always a great thing.

Will:
[21:45] Will Sarah you know that every moment we spend with someone is a good moment.

Sarah:
[21:49] It is a good moment because our last name is Gazette you're saying that's so funny we've never been,
so just a couple more things that we look at for the year so because then I do want to talk about a word or a focus so we're just kind of looking at goals like kind of what we looked at 20:20 where we
pinpointed maybe some areas that need Improvement how can we turn those into something that we can do bite-size things that we can work on for this next year we also look high up,
out vacations for the year like usually we're about a year and a half,
trying to plan like what are you just but we have learned for us and maybe you guys are different we'd love to hear how your rhythm is but for us,
taking good breaks and pauses is really important and we,
spent a lot of years not naturally doing that now there were a lot of factors part of that was just we had very young kids I mean we could put in all the excuses because really at the end of the day they're excuses to not make it a priority
and so one of our biggest encouragement give anybody is just figure out what time away,
for you it does not need to be going to the islands of her Laredo and Mexico it might mean hey we can do something locally or maybe we're going to do a staycation but just being intentional to take the time and to pause and.

Will:
[22:57] As our friend and podcast guest Christy boulware said your paws is your priority.

Sarah:
[23:03] Yes and so vacation that is one of the best things that we have done over the last four or five years I feel like across the board is be really intentional about time away the two of us time away individually,
and time away as a family and so we have learned to it's not if you don't plan it is not going to happen it's just not magically going to happen and so.

Will:
[23:19] What get scheduled gets done.

Sarah:
[23:22] Yes and so that has become a part of our planning as we look at the new year of going okay where are we like we're at 21 so we've got,
time alone we know we need probably a weekend together somewhere that your we tried just so you know what the good family does and you don't have to do the same thing you find what works for you will and I try to get a loan,
for about a week together once a year in a weekend alone together,
a year bare minimum just the two of us we try to do a family week away some somewhere whatever that looks like,
and a family like long weekend or staycation or something together and then we both try really hard to get away individually at least,
one time like for a night or two and then we got some friends that sometimes you like try to do like guys and girls,
try and do that and they're not big huge expensive thing like that does not we.

Will:
[24:13] Gallivanting around the world it's.

Sarah:
[24:14] No we're not.

Will:
[24:15] Taking care of yourself.

Sarah:
[24:16] And we budget for it and there's a lot of tips we could give you about that if you're like hey I'm struggling because we were in that boat for a long time of like how do we afford this or how did the two of us go away by ourselves what we do with our kids and,
get creative there's ways to do it and I know some of you are probably like maybe it's easier than others and we get that we have been in that life place and time but just try to do whatever you can.

Will:
[24:36] I mean the goal is self-care the goal is not necessarily to have an experience or to you know add a stamp to your passport or do something extravagant if you really care about yourself even Anna said that in last episode right if,
know yourself grow yourself if you know yourself well you have to spend time yourself to know yourself well and that will help with growth.

Sarah:
[24:54] One of the best things I've done the last few years that you gifted to me was to go away by myself and I don't go I literally go to Chesterfield let's like 30 minutes from my house.

Will:
[25:04] 20 miles away or 10.

Sarah:
[25:05] Like I don't have to and usually you we've been fortunate that you had like Hotel points and we use that so it like cost us nothing but that's usually like the kind of thing that we're looking for like I just don't need I mean yes it would be so fun to be like I'm going by my actually I don't know that I would like to go by my.

Will:
[25:18] At want to go very much further by.

Sarah:
[25:20] Anyway
we digress so vacations return my other time off like just we're kind of looking at our year from a really big high up perspective like we're all of our kids birthdays winners our anniversary what are things that we know that's going on in my line of work
there are certain times of the year that are really crazy crazier than others and still marking those on the calendar and then planning vacations appropriately around.

Will:
[25:40] Yes because you need to rest after you go cray.

Sarah:
[25:44] Yes
after the great great and you don't know whatever your life placement is guys you know there's a rhythm and Seasons to that and so maybe there's really busy times of the year or or maybe it's just always kind of steady for you and it's just like hey I'm going to do this,
and whatever we could talk to you so much about in the importance of time off and we are doing better we are trying we work on that every single.

Will:
[26:03] But I want to challenge if you're listening to do one thing,
and that's to set aside maybe it's 15 minutes maybe it's 30 minutes in the next week and you can message us when you're going to do it or after you do it,
and I want you to be quiet turn off the TV put your device on do not disturb or airplane mode or whatever and take some time to reflect because if you reflect you'll start to,
understand the rhythms of your life and understand how much you need or don't need or win it might work to fit in some sort of rest and period of reflection but you got to take the time you have to be intentional about it to be able to get to that place where you know hey it's a priority for me and if you schedule it will get done.

Sarah:
[26:38] Yes and so that's one of the best things we've said and we'll kind of alluded to this earlier when he was getting off trick that we can you got to take.

Will:
[26:45] Get off track.

Sarah:
[26:46] You got to take time this is not just the hey it's beginning of 2021 and I'm going to reflect and then I'm gonna make some refocus I'm going to set some goals and then I'm never not thinking about it again until December or January you know December 2021 or December.

Will:
[27:01] Continuation gets.

Sarah:
[27:03] Checking it and that does lead us to a tip and we're not trying to play well they're our friends and we love them so we talked about Matt Granado's and Maria granados they were both on two separate episodes they own a company called life bowls and they have a planner in these areas that we talked about like,
physically emotionally spiritually they've got this great planner that breaks it down
every week there's actually line items where you can put here's my focus for this week and here's like just the one thing like one,
I need to do this week to move me closer to my goal so maybe it's like we said the healthier one always seems to be one right for the beginning of the year and so actually let's not use that one as a that's that's.

Will:
[27:41] Use Danny use an easier one.

Sarah:
[27:42] Rich I want to use the spiritual one like I want to maybe realizing like I want to read my Bible more this year or I want to get closer to God in some way shape or form okay so that's great goal
absolutely something we would say do that is always something that's on all of our list but if I don't put some qualification to that or figure out what that means
I might not ever do it or I might not know how to know if I did accomplish it and so we love their planner because you can literally write down like this week my goal is I want to spend,
ten minutes four days a week reading God's word,
like or what it or I'm going to pick a seven-day bible plan from you version and I'm going to do it you know in like just little things and then before you know it if maybe you maybe you have the same,
every week and you're doing it and then you be created this habit and it's created change and before you know it you're like I'm reading my Bible five times a week and it's awesome and I feel way
I forgot and I'm hearing him in blah blah all the.

Will:
[28:34] Yeah and if you struggle with putting that into your,
life routine into your daily routines into your week if that's a struggle for you for starting something new I would recommend well first let me tell you you can do it I would recommend the book Atomic Habits by James Clear actually macron Granado's
I recommend that to me and so I picked it up it's fantastic but he has some very practical and easy recommendations for how you can add,
things to your daily routine or to your weekly routine so that it makes it possible for you to put into practice those little things.

Sarah:
[29:04] Yeah because we want to stress again we've listen to podcast kind of like the one we're putting out or read books and I'm like oh my gosh like they want me to do what.

Will:
[29:11] My mind is blown.

Sarah:
[29:12] There's and you're like there's no possible way or like you're already give up before you even start or you're like okay I can do this and like I said you're like I'm going to make I'm the type of person that's like I'm going to do this and I make 10 goals and I do none of them,
and I get like arm excited for like 10 days like I'm going to do this and then I miss a day and then I get frustrated and then I'm mad at myself,
is horrible and so this is just you can do this like it is not hard it might take just like I said some intentionality some planning but if Will and I can do this trust me,
you can do this too it is.

Will:
[29:47] Focus on the process more than the result and you will get to the.

Sarah:
[29:50] Absolutely and the result might be different than what you originally wrote down but that's part of the fun it really is like I got to put a quote out for someone and they're asking me about goals and
like what I learned in 2020 and I had one of my favorite things is like you know what goals can change
one the most liberating things it's like you know what maybe I said my goal was to do X but you know what halfway through maybe I was like you know what,
actually I want to do why and you know what the beauty is you can change it like it was so freeing I know it.

Will:
[30:18] There's no XY police out there nope okay.

Sarah:
[30:20] You can it's your goals you can do it so well
so this has been huge for us and so it kind of goes along with the whole reflecting on a pasture looking forward and so those are one practices but then I feel like there's just kind of another practice that can kind of go hand-in-hand but kind of be a little different and I don't know which one I would tell people to do a thing
pick one,
maybe you guys listening our friends maybe you've heard people talk about having a word or Focus or phrase actually Anna did talk about that last week if you listen to that podcast,
and this is something we've done for a few years how many how long have you done this.

Will:
[30:52] I'm just open to my journal here and I've got back to 2014 is really or 2015 is when this really started is just praying and asking for a theme or a word for the season ahead.

Sarah:
[31:04] Yeah and so before we talk about kind of how we do next we want to give you practical tips on like hey just you know here's how you do it not just do it can you give us an example of what some of your words have been don't tell us your word for this year.

Will:
[31:16] I want ya like we're back in 2015 I sensed or all this stuff starts for me with prayer we didn't even really mention that it's
for me it's pretty up so that's like the beginning the foundation is asking God for some insight but for me 2015 was all about expansion.

Sarah:
[31:32] Okay and so if somebody for our friends listening will why would someone why would it be beneficial for someone to have a word or phrase or something for year that they can kind of or a season like we said maybe you're listening this in June 22 can do it whenever,
season.

Will:
[31:47] Some of these years that have like three or four throughout the year I sense there was different things going like this one's done no more hiding.

Sarah:
[31:52] So why would this be important for somebody to do.

Will:
[31:54] Yeah it's sets a vision for your life for the year it gives you eyes to see and ears to hear kind of what are some things I should look out for,
and it maybe gives you a better you know goal for like being intentional,
so for expansion for me it was really clear like this this is going to be a year for expanding our family this is the year we were pursuing adoption right it's about career it's about
other kind of things in leadership and management and experiences for me and so I kind of distorted that early on and then so I started looking for those opportunities not to like force my way into them
but just having my eyes open and again as someone who lives if you live by faith that you know that your life is not your own but there's also things that happen around you and there's opportunities that present themselves,
that are actually from God and so if you have the ability to look out for those then you're going to be more receptive to them than if you're just going to walking blindly into things.

Sarah:
[32:44] Yeah and I think that's great and I think over years of you doing this we don't realize I think sometimes we forget that
God is building things in us and it's continuing and it's like man maybe this year are the season or this month,
ever it is I really need to work on this thing and we don't even realize that while we're focused and praying through and working on that one intention or word God is using that in bigger ways than we would even begin to know or understand for things to come,
and in the future like I can already see my word for 2020 was value and you'll see when you hear me talk about some of my words I am a I'm a complex word or phrase person they always have more meanings and so part of my word value was hey
what value do this God see in me like what did he place in me that
is my unique gift just kind of re looking back at that what value do I really bring in the situations like what are things that I can do and then what do I value like what are really things that are important to me is kind of a 3 Focus.

[33:43] Way yes multiple meanings of like hey and it was crazy how even in the midst of the covid stuff that I really felt like God pulling back some of these things have like Sarah this is where I really need you
to focus these are things are these are things I put in you that I really need you
to get to do you or spend more time with these three things not not these ten things kind of focus in here and put more value on these things and it was great like just too,
be able to focus on those things and I can already see as the end I mean that season kind of was ending a little different for me because God gave me my new word for this next season way earlier than he has before because last year
it was really difficult because I like started 20/20 and I was like I have no
the like it was a harder year for me to try to come up with something and then once I felt like God really spoke that value thing I was like okay great okay that makes sense,
so let's talk about this though how does someone what does the process look for like for you will to try to find a word Focus phrase whatever for a year or season.

Will:
[34:41] Yeah like I mentioned starts with a prayer a lot of Its Reflection and some of the things we've already covered and then observation is there anything that I feel like there's a theme in,
in that reflection in that prayer that God you're leading me towards and so it's really there's not really like,
some magical way that it happens it's a series of things that just become like very evident to me and then I rock I don't know if I run tyranny is the right word,
I don't believe in coincidences it's a god incidence but God will confirm it to me so for example my year for 2020 my word for 2021 rather,
kind of sense this is praying about it asking and then within 24 hours something came up with work where the very same word was presented right in front of me and I'm like okay well,
this is pretty clear from to me God that and he will do that often you know I'm not looking for that.

Sarah:
[35:29] And let's talk about this for a sec because sometimes it can be hard and I know for maybe some of you listening maybe your newer in your faith or maybe you've walked with
bit of a journey for a long time in your like I still don't know what this is this is not there is no weird like spiritual magic that happens
if you're learning to hear the voice of the Lord you will kind of
those discernment muscles and you know what it is but there's no wrong choice like I God's not going to be like if you think maybe you misheard one I don't think that you necessarily do but like if you're like I picked the word maybe your word is just focused or intentional
need to be more intentional like it that is not going to be God's not going to be like oh sorry that was the wrong word for you like you can't you do he's gonna use it.

Will:
[36:11] Theme before him and like I want to use this for good to build myself up and For Your Glory then he's gonna honor that for sure this character right.

Sarah:
[36:18] It to Lost don't overthink it as like a chronic over-thinker I can share this,
with you and you'll know I think you really will lean into that there is actually a great YouVersion Bible study if you guys have been along with us you know you version
one of our favorite things is the Bible app you can get on your phone by Craig groeschel Craig groeschel is a pastor at a big church called Life Church
and he it's called words to live wasn't he called that one were his what's the one that's the word of the year it's like a three-day study that helps you kind of think through how to find.

Will:
[36:46] The one board thing yeah or theme yeah.

Sarah:
[36:48] Will link that in the show notes because that was a great one that we did with some home team people we're kind of walking them through that.

Will:
[36:54] Home team is our version of small groups.

Sarah:
[36:55] Yeah like a small group a community group that we had
and that was really helpful for people and so part of what I would encourage you is find a word or Focus or phrase and doesn't just be one word I'm going to tell you mine in a minute
and then find somebody to share with maybe it's a spouse maybe it's a friend maybe it's several people just to say hey would you I want to share this with you and then would you help me just,
keep this in front of me would you help me kind of stay accountable to this or like.

Will:
[37:19] Encourage me in a.m.

Sarah:
[37:20] How is this going for you this year how is you know,
expansion like what are you is God shown you a new things or what are you doing at her how are you being intentional if your word or my word value like hey what's God told you lately about this or what are you discovering just have some people around you that are asking you and can help you with that thinking.

Will:
[37:37] And there's one more even more basic that's right it down there's nothing else to say write it down.

Sarah:
[37:44] Write it down put it down somewhere so you remember and keep it in front of you and can keep keep working on that so don't ask me what my word.

Will:
[37:51] Sarah tell us about what is your word for 2021.

Sarah:
[37:54] Five words which way to hear what this was a hard like I said it came to me a little earlier I think.

Will:
[37:59] Earlier one.

Sarah:
[38:00] I think it was an early December because I started thinking about it and I knew we wanted to do this podcast and typical Sarah fashion I was kind of like freaking out like okay I can't do a podcast episode about having a word for the year,
and not have a word like that would be horrible as if that would really be the worst thing in the world but it felt like I needed to have.

Will:
[38:14] Sure how did this come to you'd I'm going to ask you some questions before you get.

Sarah:
[38:19] In the shower like I.

Will:
[38:21] Well that's where but hot like yeah.

Sarah:
[38:23] Buzz where it's at,
Details Matter I was thinking I was praying and literally like I've just heard felt this word not heard it but like going to sound weird but felt this word and I at first I was like,
God what this cannot.

Will:
[38:37] Mmm.

Sarah:
[38:38] And I probably for two and a half straight weeks tried to be like,
I don't think this is the word like I think there's a different word I think I have misheard the word like this is why friends when I tell you don't overthink it just find the word it's not it's because I live this.

Will:
[38:52] Mmm-hmm.

Sarah:
[38:53] From experience but I was like this cannot be the word God I need a new word so the word I heard was just the word safe,
and it really is an odd it's kind of an odd word and so I do I knew instantly though exactly what it was its kind of multi-faceted and I'm not going to share all of it with you because some of us just super
personal to me and God and what we're working
in through but it was a reminder or something God and I constantly work on and just trusting him is that he is in control I know that I believe that with my whole heart is something I've lived out for a lot of years of my life,
but just that reminder that you know what with God no matter what we're safe,
and the bigger part of it is actually kind of the flip side of it is not that hey I need to do these things to feel safe it's actually quite the opposite it's hey I really think God is pushing me into a season and some experiences where it's like you know what,
you don't need to have all the answers you don't need to have the control you don't need to know how it's all going to work out and so I'm going to push you into.

Will:
[39:47] I hear you saying is you can go into eun's what you would say is unsafe territory because you are safe is all right yeah.

Sarah:
[39:51] Yes because it's yes that's really it's not really that the word is safe and I need to feel more safe that's not it it's really about the process of feeling actually unsafe putting yourself in situations.

Will:
[40:02] And I think I'm sorry I'm interrupting we're going to get to this and talking a little bit above our vacation thing right yeah okay because this is really cool about how we're going to actually illustrate.

Sarah:
[40:12] Yeah I've actually had several circumstances where God has just confirmed that and
is good app is already having on my radar of like you know what there are some things that Sarah would normally choose to do that I'm like you know what I'm not going to overthink this I'm not going to live in fear I'm just going to I'm going to do it and so this,
is already proven it out happened before 2021 even started so that's why we said like don't get caught down to like
date on the calendar you know like just two seasons and stuff and so it's cool and so we really would so if you are listening and you're tracking with us maybe you've already done this we would really really love to hear your words are your phrases so
messages on Instagram or Facebook or you can email us well what's our email.

Will:
[40:47] Podcast at Sarah good.com.

Sarah:
[40:49] We really would like we would love to hear your words and your phrases just to know what you guys will be praying for you over those things I think it'll be really fun for us to just have those and who knows maybe they'll show up on a podcast episode we won't say your name unless we ask your permission but
it'd be really cool actually at the end of the year just talk about all the words and then see.

Will:
[41:07] I mean I just think about this is my dream - I mean yeah I'm Dreaming I'm Dreaming I'm dreaming.

Sarah:
[41:12] You're so dreamy.

Will:
[41:13] My my that's pretty much memory a Grey's Anatomy tangent here but no I'm not going to go there McDreamy and McSteamy remember.

Sarah:
[41:21] Yeah okay we.

Will:
[41:22] Okay anyway sorry I did definitely digress.

Sarah:
[41:24] Casein brain talking.

Will:
[41:25] What I'm imagining though is how powerful would it be for everyone who's listening to this podcast to set some intentions,
if you discerned a word or a theme over your next season however long that is in that you set about,
dedicating yourself to follow after that I would it would just be amazing how many lives and families and relationships and people would be transformed by that that's nothing magical about it just wow.

Sarah:
[41:49] To a really cool as I was getting ready and we're doing this podcast there is a verse in Proverbs and I think it's got a little different kind of Tatian but the way I was remembering it in the way God was just reminding me
think remind me to tell all of you listening it's Proverbs 16:9 it says in their hearts humans plan their course but the Lord establishes their steps
and I think that some ways this verse could be like hey you plan humanely but God's not ultimately do it almost like a hey,
great for your plans but whatever God is going to do but I think this honestly to me it felt like the opposite of like men I think God does there's so many scriptures to talk about
just having vision and value there's a whole other study that we talked about
in the Old Testament talks about without Vision the people perish it's like just you need that intention and goals and things in front of you that God put that in our hearts and it's like he gave us the ability in our human hearts to plan
and set things but to have one really should bring us peace and comfort knowing at the end of the day God is directing,
those steps in those plans and even right now as you're setting goals and intentions or whatever no matter what happens God is still there and he's with you in them and he's going to help.

[42:58] Path and you can ask him ahead of time and sometimes I might change and sometimes they change really drastically because week will nekkid Bois tell you stories we all have a lot more of them from 2020 we have a lot of them from our life we're goals and intentions and maybe some plans we had did not turn out,
all like what we thought,
but we know and we've learned and just our journey and our walk with the Lord that we can still trust him and that he is good and he's making the plans straight so we would please send us your words and phrases we would really love to hear that and here as you get to make those goals on,
else for this year so take oh,
moment reflect back over this last year this last season take some time to look ahead what's coming what are some goals what are some aspirations you just have and then maybe really ask God to give you an overall word or Focus for your year,
maybe all your goals and stuff kind of aligned under.

Will:
[43:50] Good.

Sarah:
[43:51] Will we been on vacation,
would not be a good story so we discovered something recently about January's for our family,
in particularly me apparently I'm not normally like a very Calamity calamitous is that a word Calamity is a calamitous a word.

Will:
[44:11] That's a good question hey go.

Sarah:
[44:12] Picking a new word I'm not normally a calamitous person.

Will:
[44:15] We just made up a word right here you just heard it.

Sarah:
[44:19] I have had this horrible track record of like the beginning of a year horrible things happening,
um what happened like well I don't ever one year Evelyn we got Evelyn a hoverboard for Christmas great and I was like I'm going to be the cool Mom I can ride this hoverboard to which let me just be very clear I did and I can.

Will:
[44:38] Thank you Dad but you had a little bit of opposition.

Sarah:
[44:40] I had a little helper from a certain little boy in our family who came he wanted to be on the hoverboard and came right up behind me and put like push me off of it and I landed straight on my tailbone and I spent that next vacation.

Will:
[44:54] Hmm folks there's nothing more exciting and true to show your love for your spouse or your significant other than carrying a donut through customs.

Sarah:
[45:04] That was a horrible horrible time in life well we were talking this year on vacation I literally we got here okay so,
we're coming to Laredo we had to take a couple different flights okay just
getting into the year trying to get away trying to make sure the kids everybody they start school trying to get everybody like situated and they have school clothes and all this stuff and hopefully not leave my parents who shout out to my mom and dad thank you so much.

Will:
[45:28] Thank you guys so much and the aunts and uncles for helping out.

Sarah:
[45:31] Everybody takes a village people thank you thank you thank you so that we could be here trying to make sure they were set up somewhat well and not just like here's our kids welp see you later,
we get on our plane and we get to Mexico and we realize that our luggage did not follow us.

Will:
[45:48] Didn't make it on the.

Sarah:
[45:49] All the way here which is slightly a problem for several reasons like again we I don't even know if we talked about this I have food allergies several of our kids we have gluten dairy allergies and stuff and so part of traveling for us just adds a whole nother layer.

Will:
[46:03] Shout out to all you who know what that's.

Sarah:
[46:05] I often had to pack food just to be careful and it is a I don't want to be sick on vacation because it,
not fun to get gluten belly as I call it and you know you don't want to have no one I have that so I pack a lot of snacks I was like oh great like not only is our my food in there all this other stuff and it was honestly I was borderline like
I'm trying not to be upset right like.

Will:
[46:27] Will be told though I was proud of you because you could have been much more Vigilant a.

Sarah:
[46:32] We got here it was a little cold like just trying to manage expectations and it was a little cooler like we didn't have our luggage I was like oh no this is our room was a little different will night would you like to talk about our bed situation on our vacation.

Will:
[46:46] Yeah well if you've ever watched I Love Lucy we've got the Lucy and what was his name Ricardo Ricardo yes Lucy I'm home we got one of those situations are two beds and.

Sarah:
[46:55] It's a studio like a resort they are our room and it has two beds it's so funny and so we will not share any more than that because this is a PG higher podcast but it's just it was funny that there's two beds.

Will:
[47:09] Sometimes you know it's like I'm cold you know and so I'll join you for a little bit and the bed to warm you up and then you like okay get out of here go to your own bed go to your bed hmm.

Sarah:
[47:15] Good scare on bed it could have been the most perfect solution for our marriage ever no I'm just kidding anyway so we get here no luggage so we got to go shopping the good thing is you contact the airline they gave us money.

Will:
[47:25] Yes shout out to Cali kalea from American Airlines who is fantastic helping with her back situation thank you Kalia.

Sarah:
[47:29] Giving us money to give you quite a bit of money when your suitcase lost but the problem is we're on a remote Resort like this place that we're staying is.

Will:
[47:37] 45 minutes from the closest store.

Sarah:
[47:39] There's nothing there's desert and mountains like nothing and so they have this little market and will and I are going.

Will:
[47:47] What can we buy and oh by the way it is connected to a golf course of really phenomenal golf.

Sarah:
[47:53] In the find panel.

Will:
[47:54] It's like you have golf stuff.

Sarah:
[47:55] Whose shirts were like we need to go we are,
you got us this reservation for this nice restaurant the first night we were here you're supposed to like dress up in my I have jeans on in a sweatshirt like this is not going to be okay we I made you go over to the restaurant to double check to make sure.

Will:
[48:11] Check is this okay.

Sarah:
[48:13] Which so,
where we have so many vacations right so we lost our luggage moral of the story is thankfully we got it back I mean really thankful because there is a moment I was like who no I mean you hear those sort like maybe I'm never going to see this stuff again and it would be okay it's just stuff.

Will:
[48:28] It's at the bottom line is limited time disruption what do you do with its this like it's a life must in the right you can't control your circumstances all you can control is how you.

Sarah:
[48:39] And I literally told you we were walking and I was having an internal dialogue with myself because I could feel the like we're on vacation we only have so many days it's already.

Will:
[48:46] Pressure on your attention was Rising.

Sarah:
[48:48] To have we got here later than we wanted it was all like several of these things are not going the right way and it's like now we don't have our luggage and again it was always that like I have a choice right now,
I can choose to be angry and upset and the only person it's going to effect is really me but then also you because.

Will:
[49:05] Affect me too.

Sarah:
[49:06] But it's like what is what what's the win in that like I'm just going to be upset I'm going to be angrier I can be like you know what,
okay here's the facts we don't have our luggage but you know what there is a market what's the worst case I have to wear I have some clothes and good news I did have a few of my snacks on my back so it's not like
couldn't eat anything and they do have gluten-free no the food part was really honestly the more of the hard thing because I didn't want to like eat something that would totally derail me and make me sick.

Will:
[49:30] And there's plenty of avocados and guacamole so we could have just lived.

Sarah:
[49:33] We had a lot of guacamole and so we're good so that happened great so we got our luggage but we went we went shopping we got to find some funny things will show you some pictures of our lovely outfits we found and found.

Will:
[49:46] Hey I'm digging my new golfing shirts I don't really Golf and I wouldn't spend that much money on shirts but I like them they're nice.

Sarah:
[49:51] Yeah yeah okay and then I had here's my.

Will:
[49:53] And my really cool really cool swimming trunks that were super expensive at the only option they had that fit me.

Sarah:
[49:59] They're hilarious we I was laughing quite a bit at the store
will train the fight they had like all these weird sigh I have no idea what was going on and they're like no pants like I don't understand like I know there's golfing so I it makes sense in theory but there are literally were like no shorts really or like these really weird like Linda knee,
they look like but like balloon pants like that but they were shorts like.

Will:
[50:20] Like or capris.

Sarah:
[50:22] I don't even know what they were knowing with one of them it was crazy anyway we survived that I did have a mishap with the stairs because I had to buy.

Will:
[50:29] Right.

Sarah:
[50:29] Crazy sandals that are like a literally like I haven't even gone flip flops it's like a piece of cardboard.

Will:
[50:34] Our board yeah I think it was cardboard coated in leather maybe leather.

Sarah:
[50:37] The the bottom of these shoes and I literally were walking were like let's take the stairs that would be healthier,
don't do that don't do healthy things it ends up not I totally slipped luckily I caught myself but I was like I just think I'm just probably sprained my wrist was at the.

Will:
[50:53] Maybe so.

Sarah:
[50:56] Anyway we're still in one piece we have survived our vacation do you want to talk about my safe word in my heart one of.

Will:
[51:02] Yes.

Sarah:
[51:03] Saying we've done so far so you get on vacation right.

Will:
[51:07] And there's an option there's always options you can do excursions and fun things and go do the stuff for you can just sit at the beach or the pool or whatever.

Sarah:
[51:14] We're usually like hey let's sit by the time we get here we're
we go go go so much in our natural life that when we are on vacation for me and particular I'm like I don't want to go do a bunch of stuff like I know I don't want to go to this I like but just hard though because you want I want to see things and I don't want to miss out but I asked also.

Will:
[51:32] This place is a little different though because it's more nature s gets on our terms that's not touristy like we wouldn't want to.

Sarah:
[51:37] It all which is amazing and if you're ever looking for a great vacation ask us about this because it really has been very very beautiful very different,
some of your typical Resort travel away type things at least the ones that we've experienced so we went hiking Delhi different things but one of them was to get to go on an ATV.

Will:
[51:56] Four-wheeler.

Sarah:
[51:57] Four wheeler Beach tour now I have to tell myself I don't think I've ever if I've ever ridden a four-wheeler,
I don't know maybe like when we were in Illinois we grew up in Illinois and there was Farm like there might have been stuff there,
I am not that kind of person like I love to try new things but I'm a very unique kind of Trier of new things and so I was like we need to do this ATV thing I think it would be awesome I want to do it it's on the beach what a great way to.

Will:
[52:24] And what was the struggle with that though this is where we get to the safe.

Sarah:
[52:27] Fide that I was gonna kill myself.

Will:
[52:29] What was the choice we need to make.

Sarah:
[52:31] What do we write a do I get my own or do we ride together.

Will:
[52:34] All right and what was the question I.

Sarah:
[52:35] Now let me be very honest about our marriage situation we have a great relationship and we do really well when we also after 17 years of being married no it's done with the boundaries so for me it was like.

Will:
[52:47] Someone likes to be in control.

Sarah:
[52:48] Would I do better driving this by myself and possibly throwing myself off a mountain or a cliff or would it be better for will to throw us off of mountain a cliff which situation would I be less mad at,
and it finally came down to we probably should have separate,
ATVs four wheels but it was great will post pictures and it'd be really fun there were a few moments where we're going down these like Rocky things online.

Will:
[53:10] But here's the here's the deal with that we're gets back to your word right and I'm I remember I didn't even I don't think you'd shared your word with me.

Sarah:
[53:17] I did tell you because there was another circumstance.

Will:
[53:19] But anyway yes maybe that was the question but the whole thing was you know shit to do this the tandem one or should we just do two separate I just ask you well what's your what's your word like what's your word for the year maybe maybe that will help.

Sarah:
[53:28] For the year I'm like I need my own I can do it I can do it I can do hard things people.

Will:
[53:33] Good job and now you know how to do manual transmission to.

Sarah:
[53:36] I do I'd never I've never driven a stick shift I'm totally telling on myself.

Will:
[53:38] Gear shifting she guys this is huge she knows the whole gear thing now which is great.

Sarah:
[53:43] Yeah our travel guide was fantastic he took us out there's this one spot where was just all flat in the middle and he literally is like I'm going to teach you how to do this and it was like
I don't know how long and he's like come on follow me until like I was right next to him and it was like go faster faster and you're Shifting the gears and it makes sense once I've done it I just never have had to do it so,
now I feel like I'm a professional four-wheeler driver and now I feel like I need to get one for next Christmas so this is why I can't try new things I mean they're all in it's like a okay here we go let's.

Will:
[54:13] You guys heard it right here Sarah good said she is game for getting a four-wheeler and a TV dinner.

Sarah:
[54:17] Move to Mexico and become tour guides for the ATV stuff like that would be fun and when we're old that's what we're going to do you might find this will and I retired will give our podcast and when were 80 in our 80s here from the beach anyway we way,
you guys are like okay awesome friends thank you for state if you stuck around this long we're so,

[55:27] Good going on right now anything Yep this is the opportunity.

Sarah:
[55:30] Oh do I tell guys this is the best part of our vacation,
ATVs amazing views amazing downtime amazing spending time with my wonderful husband amazing but what.

Will:
[55:44] Okay game-changer Game Changer coming up.

Sarah:
[55:46] Is we went to that first night at the restaurant that we didn't know if we could go in because we didn't have right clothes and buying this interesting dress but it was so free it was like 50 degrees here at first like it's so crazy to kind of California weather if you ever been,
it gets really warm during the day but at night the temperature drops in its I was cold and so I was like I'm not wearing a sleeveless short dress in this restaurant going to freeze to death,
so we walk in best first best thing is they brought me a blanket which was amazing.

Will:
[56:14] Yeah if you ever sit down on your chili and they just bring you a blanket that's high class.

Sarah:
[56:18] This Is My love language right here it was so amazing and then they asked do you want flat or sparkling.

Will:
[56:23] Mmm.

Sarah:
[56:24] I was being unsafe and went for sparkling water might how often you get to choose this Lovett New fan of that well then we get to the end and,
they bring you dessert and I had seen I'd read this article about something really special this restaurant Biz they call it flaming,
coffee and friends you know we'll am I love for all things coffee and so add fire to the mix and just you can only imagine will show you pictures in the video it was amazing they do this whole thing they light it on fire,
things I can't even begin to explain it to you but if you ever go on vacation you just need to find some way to find yourself some flaming coffee in its amazing will and I.

Will:
[57:05] All will be right with the world.

Sarah:
[57:06] That's actually our new goal for the year we have been hiding it we are waiting to the end our new goal for 2020 one is to really learn how to do.

Will:
[57:13] Master flaming coffee without lighting myself on fire that's.

Sarah:
[57:16] Are burning your house down but it was amazing the dessert was so good the coffee was incredible and that was just a fun that's something something good flaming coffee what about you will what something good.

Will:
[57:25] Excellent oh something good for me you're not supposed to turn it back on me come on you asked me to have the last word I am being the host today.

Sarah:
[57:29] You're being the host today okay will do you want to answer it.

Will:
[57:35] Something good is hiking and seeing the sunrise I love the sunrise over the ocean that is something good anytime you see the sunrise I think is just a reminder that seasons change might have a bad day but the sun comes up the next day Hallelujah.
